As senior vice president of consulting services, Susan Mangels, Ph.D., ensures a personal and strategic approach to each client’s most essential fundraising challenges and opportunities. Susan has extensive experience serving at the highest leadership levels in the think tank and academic worlds. She previously served as chief development officer at the Independent Institute, vice president for institutional advancement at Lindenwood University, president of Lexington College, dean of Oakcrest School (Vienna, Virginia) and assistant head of Montrose School (Medfield, Massachusetts).
Susan holds a bachelor’s degree from Furman University, an Ed.M. from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in education policy from the University of Illinois. She has held numerous board roles, currently serving on the boards of Montrose School, Women of Vision – Chicago, and FOCUS, Catholic Charities, and the Women’s Leadership Cabinet of the United Way in St. Louis. She is a member of The Policy Circle and publicly speaks frequently on the topics of executive leadership, career development, and work-life balance. She lives in Chicago, Illinois.
