Creating a firm foundation for a young nonprofit
A new nonprofit client was a young tech-oriented group with innovative ideas and cutting-edge programs, but with little knowledge of how or where to secure philanthropic support.
AC Fitzgerald built the nonprofit’s successful fundraising program from the bottom up, providing an engaging case for support, a revenue plan, and research on potential funders. From there ACF built a step-by-step donor outreach plan and trained and coached staff on cultivation and solicitation strategies, board development, and building their first database. During the two years of the consultancy, ACF launched a successful major gift and direct mail program and crafted engaging donor communications.

Within the first 10 months of our engagement, our client secured five new foundation grants at the six-figure level. After a year, they received confirmation of renewal grants and received two new six-figure gifts from supporters greatly interested in their programs. The organization’s board was more active, prestigious and financially supportive. The organization also has a pipeline of dozens of new prospects and donors with major gift potential.
