Building a culture of philanthropy

AC Fitzgerald Culture of Philanthropy

Challenge

A sophisticated nonprofit had operations in multiple cities. As a result, fundraising had become siloed within the organization. Worse, the program staff did not understand or value the organization’s important connection to donors.

Solution

ACF began by working with the CEO to help him understand his role in unifying the teams, demonstrating the critical work of development, and building a culture of philanthropy. Then we held small group training sessions to create a donor-centric environment in which the funders and fundraisers were valued. We also helped all staff understand their roles in supporting the fundraising effort.

Fundraising. Fast Forward.

Within six months, the nonprofit began to see its revenues rise as all team members began to contribute and support the organization’s philanthropic outreach.
